Round 4 of the Snowbee Top Rod competition was at Wimbleball, high on Exmoor near Brompton Regis.
Weather forecast was a cool 14 degrees with some heavy showers and a moderate Westerly wind.
17 anglers made the trip, having stopped for breakfast at Brewers Fayre in Exeter on the way.
We were met at the lake by Ash who sorted out the boats and lifejackets for us and we were out on the water by 0930.
Wimbleball is 375 acres in size and 9 boats soon went to all areas of the lake to fish.
Fish were caught in all areas of the lake, Ruggs, Bessoms, The Dam and Upton Arm all produced fish.
Best tactics were Floating line and diawl bachs and dries or Intermediate and DI3/5 with pulled lures.
17 Anglers caught 49 fish for a bag weight of 115lbs 6oz
6 Anglers caught their 5 fish bag.
Average catch was 2.9
Average weight was 2.4lbs
Biggest fish were 5lbs 1oz caught by Darren Penfold and 4lbs 11oz caught by Alex Venn.
